Project Description
This project aims to recreate the Atari version of Pitfall using the Unity Engine and C#. All assets have been recreated by me using Photoshop and Longplay videos of the original as inspiration, I've attempted to keep as close as possible to the source material, however, that was not always possible due to not having access to the original source code.
Therefore, every mechanic had to be re-imagined by me and then repeatedly tweaked until it was close enough to the original.
Project Aims
The overall aim of this project was to put every programming skill I acquired during University Year 1 to the test in a big project like this.
Although the project didn't turn out exactly as I first envisioned, with many mechanics being much harder to accurately implement than I realized, I've learned many valuable lessons from it which I will take into my second year as well as all future Game Development projects.
